World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
The upgrade feature for items allows players to increase the item level for equippable weapons or armor. This improves the stats of that equipment, and also sometimes adding buffs or the rerolling of an affix.
It is crucial to remember that upgrading common gear isn't always worth it. Rare and exclusive gear will quickly outclass upgraded magic and common gear.
Cost
If a player wants to upgrade an item, they have to spend Gold to upgrade the item. The cost of upgrading an item depends on its current level and the type of upgrade selected. For instance, upgrading a weapon will typically be cheaper than upgrading armor because weapons have lower requirements for level. The amount of Gold required increases as the item is upgraded to a higher level.
Upgraded items will also have enhanced stats that can boost its performance in different ways. This could include increasing its attack power or critical strike chance. An upgraded item may also provide additional buffs to the weapon it is equipped with. These upgrades can be used to boost the overall power of a group or individual unit, and can be a major influence on the gameplay.
The NPC for upgrading items can be found in the game. These NPCs are located in major questing areas or capital cities. Players can also find upgraders by visiting dungeons with high-level bosses, or by talking to the NPCs in their garrisons for their faction.
The World of Warcraft item upgrade system lets players upgrade the level of their weapons, armor, and trinkets. This process is largely identical to the process of reforging gear in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor however, instead of using the appropriate currency players need to visit an item upgrader NPC to complete the process.
Item upgrades can be costly, particularly when it concerns armor and weapons. Depending on the upgrade track each step up in the level of an item can cost many Valorstones and crests. The costs are prohibitive for those who don't have the funds or are unable to grind.
The game allows you to play a reroll of an upgraded item with a special tool in the menu of items. This option lets you exchange the upgraded item for the version at level 1 with a different set of bonus effects. This can be useful to gain better results on items which are already upgraded. However, it can also be a waste.
Requirements
Upgrading is the process of increasing the level of equippable items like armor, weapons and trinkets. This can increase their effectiveness and make them more effective in combat. Players can upgrade their equipment by spending the appropriate amount of currency at an upgrader. However, players must be aware that some upgrades require special requirements.
The first upgrades increase the stats of the item's base by one level, however later upgrades give more substantial increases. Upgrades from levels 3 to 6 will boost the weapon's damage plus two levels. A bonus stat will also be added to the upgraded item based on its level. This bonus consists of a guaranteed extra substat as well as a random stat that will change in value from upgrade to upgrade.
A player can reroll an upgraded item by using a Reroll Token to exchange the upgrade for a brand new one. The new item comes with distinct set of bonuses, as well as a lower level for the item. The rerolled item will also have different requirements for dexterity and strength. It is important to know that the item rerolled won't be able to keep its original strength or have any of its wasted resources.
Certain upgraded items can only be rerolled if the original item was Unique Epic, Rare or Rare. Extraordinary items can also be rerolled, however the original stats are replaced with a flat-rate bonus. This means that rerolling an item that is Rare item will result in a Normal version of the same type, whereas rolling an Epic item will result in an Elite version of the same type.
A newly upgraded item could come with additional modifiers, which can increase the stats of the item and improve its performance. These additional modifiers don't come with the upgrade cost. You can purchase them at the Trading Post, or through other players. Alternatively, they can be earned by completing specific missions in the game.
To upgrade an equipment piece it is necessary to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine. Depending on the kind of item, you'll need one or more Power Dices (Dice 6 is droppable from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 12 is droppable from Bosses). You will also require different amounts of Minerals, Erons and Giants.
Time is a factor.
Upgrades to items can be used to improve the power of your ship and gear without having to level them. While upgrading isn't inexpensive, it's an excellent way to increase your stats without having to spend as much time fighting. It's essential to know the costs and benefits of item upgrades before you invest your money or time.
Each upgrade boosts the base stat of an item by a specific amount, and also offers a chance for a bonus stat increase. The extra substat is a random and may range from a tiny increase in one statistic to a much greater boost in another. It is recommended to concentrate on the best-in-slot items first, as they'll provide a greater return for your investment.
You can check the time required to complete an upgrade by opening your inventory and selecting a weapon, ship, or accessory. The upgrade window will display the expected completion time and progress. In certain cases, you may be able to speed the process of upgrading by applying an Glyph.
It is also possible to salvage some or all of the upgrade components from an item by using a special high-tier salvage kit sold by Black Lion Salvage and Ascended Salvage. However, this doesn't include legendary equipment or upgrades, which can only be recovered using an Upgrade Extractor or recovering them through the appropriate Karma Merchant.
Take advantage of the benefits
The upgrading of items rewards players with money and a variety of items. In addition, every upgrade can provide a random extra stat bonus. The amount of bonus value is different for each upgrade, and is generally higher for rare items. The Great Vault can be searched by players to determine if an item is upgradeable. The search can assist in determining whether the item is of a specific level and if the player could benefit from a particular upgrade.
In the process of upgrading, an item will gradually increase to its next level, but it's not always able to reach a fully upgraded bar. The process will consume Growthstones and Sollant, but there is the chance to achieve a fully upgraded item with only one cycle of growth. The higher the level an item is upgraded, the higher its stat value will be and the more items can be upgraded.
Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons to give an attribute bonus or to create a unique effect when the equipment is worn. Certain upgrade components come with cosmetic effects. Players can acquire upgrade components by crafting, purchasing from vendors or on the Trading Post, looting, or receiving as an incentive. Additionally players can find upgraded items using an Upgrade Extractor or salvaging them with a salvage kit. Glyphs that are placed on gathering tools can be swapped freely.

By selecting the item and pressing the green button, which has a rerolling arrow, a player can reroll it to create an upgradeable item. This will change the layout and let players select up to six items to be used for "recycling". The item that is recycled will be exchanged for an item of level 1 similar to it. Recycled items won't keep their level, or the resources used to upgrade them.
The maximum level of upgrade for an item is determined by its quality and tier. Rare items can be upgraded up to an maximum of level six, while Rare and Epic items can be upgraded up to level nine. Item upgrades are added to the base statistics of the item which means that they will no longer increase after a specific point.
